Monty Tech students accept awards
FITCHBURG — Nicholas J. DeSimone, principal of Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, announces that seniors Angela M. Tonet of Winchendon and Miguel A. Velez III of Fitchburg are this year’s recipients of a Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents’ (M.A.S.S.) Award for Academic Excellence.
The endowment is presented any year to students who have renowned themselves in a area of educational excellence.
The students were presented with their certificates of value during a new Monty Tech School Committee meeting.
Miss Tonet, a tyro in a Early Childhood Education program, has a 4.0 GPA and is ranked third in a category of 327 students. She is portion as historian for a Monty Tech section of a National Honor Society and as a counterpart mediator. She is a member of a float organisation during a YMCA in Winchendon, where she is also a lifeguard and swimming instructor. She is an tabernacle server and lector during Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Winchendon.
