Scholarship awarded to dental propagandize student


The Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association awarded Maria Alison Caras, a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority stability her preparation during a Dental College of Georgia during Augusta University, a $2,000 grant in approval of her educational and service-based accomplishments.

Caras, a proprietor of Dunwoody, is stability her preparation during a Dental College of Georgia during Augusta University to pursue a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.

She graduated magna cum laude from a University of Georgia in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science grade in biology. As an undergraduate, Caras was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Epsilon Delta respect societies.

Since 1932, a community-based classification stoical of alumnae from National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) member fraternities, a AAPA has supposing scholarships to women from a Atlanta area, as partial of a idea of ancillary educational achievement. The AAPA Luann Rhodes Alumnae Scholarship is awarded annually to one honourable NPC sorority alumna stability her education.

“Maria continues to be an active alumna while essay in her efforts for her continued education,” pronounced Marge Reason, a member of Alpha Gamma Delta who included a grant in respect of her sorority sister, Luann Rhodes.

As an alumnae member of a Kappa Alpha Theta sorority during University of Georgia, Caras served in her section as a member of a Ritual Committee and participated in events to lift income and recognition for Kappa Alpha Theta’s philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). She is active in a Atlanta Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae Chapter and skeleton to turn a life-loyal member.

Caras has volunteered with a Ben Massell Dental Clinic, Operation Smile, and is a member of a medical goal outing to Costa Rica.

Rebecca King, Chi Omega and incoming AAPA President, presented Caras with her grant during a AAPA Scholarship Luncheon on May 13, 2017, hold during a Cherokee Town Club in Atlanta.
