When you arrange the appointment
Tell us your main concern, whether you are in pain and how quickly you need to be seen. Mention if you are bringing a treatment plan from another dentist, need a specific language, or would like to discuss access to the office.
Our online form sends an appointment request. The team will contact you to agree on a date and time; submitting it does not reserve a slot. For urgent symptoms, call (323) 936-9997.
What to bring
- A current list of medicines, allergies and relevant medical conditions.
- Recent dental X-rays or records, if available. Ask your previous office about transferring them.
- Your insurance card and plan details, if you would like benefits checked.
- Any appliance you use, such as a denture, retainer or night guard.
- Your questions and any written treatment estimate you want to discuss.
Do not stop a prescribed medicine before your visit unless the appropriate clinician has instructed you to do so.
What the first visit can establish
The dentist reviews your history and examines the areas relevant to your needs. Imaging may be recommended where it can help answer a clinical question. The visit is an opportunity to understand your oral health and set priorities.
A cleaning or procedure is not automatically part of every first appointment. The condition of your teeth and gums, available time and the reason for the visit influence what can be done. Ask the team what your appointment is scheduled to include.
Discuss costs before treatment begins
Ask for an explanation of the proposed work, the stages and what the estimate includes. Dental insurance benefits differ by plan; a benefit estimate is not a guarantee of payment. Confirm your expected contribution and any limits with the office and your insurer.
If you need to stage treatment, say so. Ask which problems are urgent, which can be monitored and whether there are reasonable alternatives. The plan should help you make an informed decision.
If you are nervous about the visit
Tell us what makes appointments difficult. You may want the dentist to explain each step, agree on a signal to pause or begin with a discussion before treatment. Sharing a previous experience helps us understand your concern.
Weekend appointments are available through the practice’s scheduling options. Call to confirm a Saturday or Sunday time that works for you.
